Manuel Antonio park with all kinds of animals living in the wild...here are a few we took photos of.
A baby iguana sitting on a leaf. We had an awesome guide who would spot wildlife, set up his scope so we could see close up, then put our camera up to the scope to snap a picture.
The Howler Monkey! Hard to see him but he howled and the forest shook and I just about jumped out of my skin. A really memorable moment for me!
This little frog looked like a piece of the leaf until we saw it through the scope. There are many kinds of frogs and many are almost extinct. Some have adapted to tree life by evolving suction-cup feet and laying their eggs in bromeliads up in the forest trees.
We learned about sloths and saw several. Our guide had us spotting them ourselves by the end of the trip. We saw both 2 and 3 toes Sloths. They eat leaves, sleep 18 hours a day (wouldn't that be a treat) and are considered lazy and not so clean. They looked kind of cute to us tho...
Look at this beautiful bird we saw...in the wild, in the forest. It is a Fiery-billed Aracari. He is also featured on a postcard I bought.
And the Capuchin (White Faced) Monkeys...so cute. They were having fun leaping through the trees, showing off for us. They even came down to the path we were walking on.
Manuel Antonio Park also has the most beautiful and popular beach in Costa Rica. This is a photo along our path on the other side of the isthmus-the swimmers were on the other side. Google an ariel view of this to really appreciate the size and beauty.
