Costa Rica 3

Headed towards Jaco on the Pacific coast and enjoyed the coastal drive down to Quepos for a night at the Blue Banyon Inn (BBI). Quepos is an old harbor town. We drove through the little village and up and down the market streets.

Then we headed 3 miles out on a dirt, pot hole filled road to BBI. Mike found this place on the Internet when we were planning our trip. We were now wondering what we were in for driving out into who knows where-land on this road through Palm groves (used for oil), a stray dog now and then, seemed to go on forever...without signs often enough.

Then we arrived! A beautiful setting, only 3 bungalows on the huge expanse of property. You can see a glimpse of the pool - we jumped in it later.

Sitting on our porch the tropical plants, mountains, birds and wildlife kept us there with binoculars and bird book until dark.

View of our bungalow

The resident parrot hanging out in the tree near the reception area was not ready to go home with the owners so Tiki was showing off for me...upside down, hanging with one leg, posing for my camera.

We had lunch late afternoon and decided not to drive the 3 mile trip back out for dinner so we had our trail mix and 'water apples' from the trees on the property for dinner.Posted by Picasa
