Garrett's overnight visit

Garrett came for an overnight visit. He enjoyed playing in the garden and sweeping the flowers and leaves into a pile on the deck. Inside fun was playing with marble works and watching a Thomas the Train video.

We promised him a train ride for his Second Birthday. So, Grandpa and Garrett road the train from San Clemente to San Juan Capistrano.

He loved showing off the photos we printed for him of the Choo Choo.

Tehachapi petting zoo

Derek and Michelyn petting the goats
Mike, Randy, Siena and Staci were checking out the peacocks.

The Perez family, Aubrey, Garrett, Nicole and Mark
checking out something bought at the fruit stand.

Tehachapi trip with family

A family trip to Michelyn and Dereks home in Tehachapi. A 3 hour drive for us. We all spent the night, Nicole and family, Randy and family and Mike and I.
We went to the Mountain Festival-a really big event and a farmers market with a petting zoo. Lots of family fun and adventures.

I just loved being around the kids and soaked up every opportunity with the grandchildren.

Casa workday

There is never a typical work day at the Casa. My volunteers and me have gathered mountains of garden trimmings that need to be chipped and composted. I rounded up a local tree trimming company that has done work for the Casa in past years. Rod's Tree Service agreed to volunteer his services to clean up my huge piles of garden trimmings. I was dissappointed they couldn't chip it up and put it in my compost bin-too many weeds and material that would ruin their blades. So they hauled many wheelbarrow full to the green waste. Would I ever love to have that crew for a few hours a week!

SC Fiesta

The Fiesta was on Sunday. They close downtown Del Mar Street. There are 3 stages with live music, lots of food, booths and childrens activities. I took a stroll up and down the street. Took 3 photos. My camera was 'acting funny'. Thought it was a battery problem until I loaded the photos on the computer. I had it on video! OK I forgot to check the setting.

Siena visit

Randy had a work day in San Diego so they spent the night to shorten his drive. Goodie for me! Staci and Siena hung out with us for the day.

Siena in Grandma's garden. Want to follow me ? Let's pick some tomatoes...

A trip to the Casa is a must. The frogs in the fountain are fun to watch.

Siena must stop and smell every flower!

This is the 'Fried Egg Poppy,' the Queen of native California poppies.
