We found out our English friends who we have not seen in 8 + years were going to vacation in the Cancun area. So, on a whim, we decided to visit them there!
Stayed at the Mariott on Hotel Row in Cancun. The view was beautiful from our room...however, we didn't spend much time there. The color of the water and the powder soft sand was amazing.
We drove to Playa del Carmon and reconnected with Pat and Joy. It was as if we had never been apart.
The carvings at the dinner buffet at their 'all inclusive resort' were something to see!
On our way home the last night, Mike and I had a special dinner at a restrauant on the bay. Sat out on the dock with the balmy breeze blowing...suddenly, behind my back was a SPLASH! The local alligator came to get fish the chef tossed in the water! Can you see his eyes reflecting? He was the size of a large man. We had a front row seat. I was sitting next to the red post on the left of the photo. Quite a finish to our busy vacation.

That is so scary-cool to see that aligator! Not quite like a stray dog, cat or pigeon!
